Kindering’s 32^nd Annual Auction Gala Raises $480,000!

On March 21^st, we hosted our 32^nd Annual Auction Gala at the Bellevue Hyatt Regency, attended by over 270 guests.

Together, we raised about $480,000 to provide life-changing therapies and other services for children with developmental delays, disabilities, and complex behavioral and medical needs, and their families.

Liz Dueweke served as the emcee for the event. Liz has spent nearly 20 years in TV news, reporting all over the country, but her heart is in the Pacific Northwest, where she has spent a decade delivering impactful stories to diverse audiences. Currently working at the Allen Institute, she also shared her connection with Kindering’s mission through her love for the science behind our services.

The gala was chaired by Kindering parents, Cindy and Curran Parker — better known now as Cooper’s mom and dad, who shared their Kindering journey on stage while Cooper adorably smiled and waved to the guests from his wheelchair first, later opting to crawl on stage — showcasing all the skills he acquired through his therapies at Kindering. The most memorable point of the evening was the “thank you all for coming” that Cooper said in the microphone.

In a powerful testament to the impact of Kindering’s services, Curran shared: “While we still have so much work to do to ensure Cooper will have the best life possible, I can say beyond any uncertainty that he wouldn’t have had the foundation that was given to him without Kindering, which has immensely accelerated the potential he’ll carry with him for the rest of his life. If it wasn’t for Kindering, and this amazing community of support, our son wouldn’t be where he is today.”

The evening program included a video featuring Cooper and the Parkers. 3-year-old Cooper has graduated from Kindering and started preschool with his Kindering buddy Dillon whose journey we witnessed last year.
