We are committed to providing internship and job shadowing opportunities that enhance the education and training of individuals regarding the unique challenges of children with special needs and their families.

Internships

An internship is an unpaid formal training experience associated with a university placement in pursuit of a specific degree or certificate. Kindering offers internships in the following disciplines: Speech Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Education, and Family Support (for those pursing a degree or certificate in social work or counseling).

Job Shadowing

Job shadowing is an opportunity to observe Kindering’s staff providing services to children and their families, both on and off-site. Job shadowing is limited to 1 or 2 occasions and is available in the following disciplines: Speech Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Education. We will consider high school students, college undergraduates, and other interested parties.

To get started, please complete either the internship or job shadowing online application so that we can learn more about you. Your application will be submitted to the relevant department manager and, if there is an appropriate opportunity and fit, you will be contacted about next steps. Please note that due to the volume of requests that we receive, not every applicant can be accepted.
