Project Description

Sibshops Kindering Bellevue & Bothell

Sibshops are lively, action-packed, three-hour workshops that provide support and guidance to typically-developing siblings of children with special needs. Celebrating the many contributions made by brothers and sisters of children with special needs, the Sibshop model mixes information with fun to promote connecting with others that share their unique experience through discussion and activities such as games, art, music, cooking and more. Sibshops is designed as a special space and time for siblings to share, relax, and have fun together. While trying something new can be exciting, we also understand that new participants can feel nervous or unsure. Parents/caregivers are strongly encouraged to drop participants off at the beginning and end of Sibshops; however, if needed, they are welcome to stay (either in the building or nearby) until their child is comfortable participating independently at Sibshops.

1st – 6th grade typically developing siblings of children with special needs. Sibshops are facilitated by staff and supported by extraordinary volunteers. If you are 16 years of age or older (sibling experience not necessary, but helpful) and interested in joining our team as a volunteer, or if you have questions about this program for your child, please email us at

Kindering is pleased to offer Sibshops at the Bothell, Bellevue, and Renton locations. Participants are welcome to attend any of the Sibshops that work with their schedule each month, whether or they have attended a Sibshops at that location before. Please note: Although we make every attempt to accommodate everyone who registers, we do have a limited number of spaces (16) for Sibshops.
