Family Co-Op Playgroup

Family Co-op is a cooperative early learning program designed for children under age 3 enrolled in our Early Support program and their families. Each Co-op class has up to 8 children and their caregiver participating in each class. This allows children and their caregivers the opportunity to learn together through exploration, imagination, and experimentation within a safe and nurturing environment. Co-op offers caregivers the opportunity to focus on play with their child while receiving coaching and support from our highly qualified educators and build a supportive network and friendships between children and families in our community.

Co-op classes are 90 minutes long and include free play, music, snack time, and motor time. In Co-op, caregivers stay with their child the entire class. All adults are expected to actively participate as a key part of this learning community, try out new play skills with their child, and engage in caregiver education and/or support. Children must also be enrolled in Kindering’s Early Support program to qualify. Early Support is an integral and necessary part of this program and may include regular home visits by an educator, speech-language, occupational, or physical therapist that provides caregiver education and support according to a child’s Individualized Family Service Plan.
